Anastasia Hediger, Intern Analyst

Anastasia Hediger, Intern Analyst, joined BJH Advisors while pursuing her Master of Urban Planning from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She completed her BA at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in Environmental Studies and History.

Anastasia has extensive experience in program development and policy implementation. During the summer of 2023, Anastasia served as a Climate Corps Fellow at the NYC Department of Buildings to develop a reporting and compliance strategy for Local Law 97. She conducted legislative and best practices research regarding mass data collection and user experience, while leading internal stakeholder discussions, to propose a system for implementation.

Prior to graduate school, she worked as a program manager at Efficiency Maine Trust, the statewide administrator for energy efficiency and clean transportation programs in the state of Maine. There she led the design, launch, and management of the state’s first electric vehicle incentive and education program and helped design the first Commercial Property-Assessed Clean Energy (CPACE) program in Maine. Anastasia also represented the agency during the Maine Climate Council Four-Year Climate Action Plan process, managing the Buildings, Infrastructure, and Housing task force and coordinated the production of a policy recommendations report that would inform statewide climate policy change.

Anastasia is skilled at synthesizing complex research into actionable and engaging deliverables. At Brightside Strategies, she conducted in-depth research on federal climate legislation and translated funding opportunities and programs for climate technology companies. Through her graduate coursework, Anastasia is building invaluable management and analytical skills within the context of urban and environmental challenges, including data and spatial analysis, real estate finance, and land use analysis. She is familiar with New York City’s housing and economic development landscape as well as relevant data resources such as ZoLa, PLUTO, American Communities Survey, and NYC Open Data.

Cultivated through professional and academic experiences, Anastasia brings excellent communications and project management skills with extensive experience in the Microsoft Suite, ArcGIS, R Studio, and STATA. She is proficient in Spanish.
