Pittsburgh Economic Opportunity Analysis

BJH is currently completing a market demand and economic opportunity analysis for the City of Pittsburgh. The project is divided into two tasks. The first task analyzed historic and current employment and business establishment data in order to project future trends and identify opportunity industries, including an analysis of how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted or changed the local economy. It also studied business / industry clusters and Pittsburgh’s comparative advantages relative to the surrounding county and state. The second task used employment projections and a preferred land use scenario from the City’s first comprehensive planning process to project real estate supply and demand for multiple sectors and land uses. This information will be contained in a comprehensive and easily digestible report and/or presentations available to stakeholders, the business community, and members of the public.
