PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done

BJH was the prime consultant in supporting the development, delivery, and roll-out of PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done - New York City’s long-term strategic climate plan that highlights efforts the City is taking to protect New Yorkers from climate threats, improve quality of life, and build the green economy. BJH, along with WXY and WSP USA, devised a plan framework, facilitated collaboration with City agencies on targeted technical analysis and subject-matter research, and developed thoughtful strategies and supporting actions for PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done.

PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done is the fifth in a series of climate plans released every four years by the City and was developed with input from the New York City Climate Cabinet, which consists of representatives from more than 35 city agencies and offices, the Sustainability Advisory Board, and numerous stakeholders. PlaNYC: Getting Sustainability Done highlighted critical climate strategies including implementing climate budgeting to align City resources with sustainability goals; maximizing funds from State and Federal sources and programs; developing infrastructure and assets to protect New York from climate threats and reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions; implementing programs to improve New Yorkers’ health and quality of life; and supporting the green economy transition.
