Rochester Downtown Revitalization Initiative
BJH worked with Stantec to complete the Rochester Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Strategic Investment Plan. New York State's DRI program transforms downtown neighborhoods into vibrant centers that become magnets for redevelopment, business growth, job creation, and economic and housing diversity. BJH completed a retail market analysis for the DRI neighborhood and financial feasibility analysis on proposed projects that were seeking capital funding through the program.
Projects included redevelopments of historic buildings to create market-rate and affordable housing units; a ground up mixed-income housing development with supportive housing units for survivors of domestic violence; a new outdoor public space in the downtown to improve pedestrian connection; and a 28-room boutique hotel.
