BJH Visits Civic Hall Project Site

Recently, BJH staff spent the morning touring a newly constructed economic development center in Union Square. The building will feature multiple floors of public education space, with a particular focus on technology education and digital literacy. The remaining floors contain various commercial office spaces, as well as a public food court. Project directors described the building's mission as an expansion of existing efforts to make professional jobs more attainable for underserved communities. By providing opportunities for public education in digital technology, the center hopes to ensure equal access to well-paying professional jobs and narrow the socioeconomic gap faced by marginalized communities in the area.
