Resilient Edgemere, Transformational Partnership Award

BJH Advisors is proud to share that the Resilient Edgemere initiative in the Rockaways in Queens has received a 2026 Rebuild by Design Adaptation and Innovation Award for Transformational Partnership.

As part of the VHB-led team that also included Studio V Architecture, BJH led the socioeconomic analysis supporting the Resilient Edgemere rezoning. BJH subsequently worked with the ReAL Edgemere Community Land Trust to assess market feasibility, community-benefit, and funding opportunities for activating Community Land Trust-controlled sites for uses that included healthy-food access, workforce development, community facilities, recreation, and climate-resilient public space concepts. This award recognizes a collaborative effort among New York City agencies, community partners, and technical consultants to advance an equitable and climate-resilient future in Edgemere.

The award will be recognized at the New York State Adaptation Practitioners Network in Albany on October 29-30. BJH is honored to have contributed to this partnership and to a project that places community priorities, climate adaptation, and equitable development at the center of neighborhood planning.
