Broadway-Fillmore Downtown Revitalization Initiative

BJH worked with WSP USA to complete the Buffalo Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) Strategic Investment Plan. New York State's DRI program transforms downtown neighborhoods into vibrant centers that become magnets for redevelopment, business growth, job creation, and economic and housing diversity. BJH completed a market analysis for the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood and a financial feasibility analysis on proposed projects that were seeking capital funding through the program.

Proposed projects included the enhancements to Broadway Market; an improvement to the pedestrian walkway; the construction of the Buffalo Central Terminal Great Lawn as a green space for recreational activities; the renovation of existing buildings to become childcare facilities; the creation of an Innovative Organic Container Farm; Sears Paderewski Park’s Revitalization; the creation of 62 affordable housing units at Playter Gardens at the Market; the renovation of Historic Schreiber Brewery to become a multi-use flexible commercial space; the expansion of an established neighborhood bakery; and the improvement of the Matt Urban Center for afterschool and performance space.
