Yamilée Duroseau, Associate

Yamilée Duroseau, Associate at BJH Advisors, has experience in economic and community development, real estate analyses and politics. 

Yamilée has worked on various projects within the public and private sector - she recently completed a comprehensive market analysis of Downtown Albany, which provided a thorough understanding of Downtown Albany’s socio-demographics and real estate market. Her projects also include providing the Bedford-Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation with market data in order to assist the organization with their redevelopment and completing an economic and fiscal impacts report for an upcoming development in the Bronx. At the Town of Hempstead, her responsibilities included creating zoning, building and land use databases for specific districts within the Town of Hempstead in order to quantify and keep track of the number of illegal residences, building code violations, real estate development projects and businesses within said districts.  Yamilée is also a part of the Elmont West Committee where she volunteers her time to organize community events.

Yamilée received a Master of City and Regional Planning from the Pratt Institute. There, Yamilée researched, surveyed and mapped land use patterns, zoning codes, commercial and residential areas within Northern Brooklyn in order to present best practices and recommendations to protect North Brooklyn’s industrial land use, design visibility and functionality, transform their Industrial Business Zone into an eco-industrial district and increase the neighborhood’s capacity for business growth to North Brooklyn’s business exchange, Evergreen.

  • For Suffolk County’s Department of City Planning, project managing a project review for the Ronkonkoma South Development. She is also providing a market and development strategy analysis and financial feasibility assessment, which will be included in a report with site plan and engineering reviews, as well as cost estimation validation. 

    For Pittsburgh’s Department of City Planning, developing a market demand and economic opportunity analysis. The project will allow the Department of City Planning to review an analysis of historic, current, and projected employment and business establishment trends, as well as land use. The information provided will be used in creating Pittsburgh’s first Comprehensive Plan.  

    For New York’s Empire State Development, project managed a redevelopment study for the historic landmark, Kiernan Plaza, in Downtown Albany. The report consisted of market and financial feasibility analyses as well as physical conditions assessment.  

    For Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation, assisted in the development of the Community Development Corporation’s master plan by providing market analyses and financial feasibility assessments for the preferred redevelopment scenarios. 

    For Detroit’s Department of City Planning, conducted market and economic impact analyses that will be used in accordance with the City’s Delray Neighborhood Framework Plan.
