Staten Island Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy

BJH, alongside WXY, worked with the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) to create a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Staten Island. The CEDS provides a foundation to prime the Staten Island for regional economic prosperity. As per the requirements of a CEDS, BJH first performed an analysis and summary of existing socio-demographic factors as well as economic conditions and indicators. BJH then conducted a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis of the area to help create a Strategic Direction and Action Plan. Finally, BJH created an Evaluation Framework, to evaluate the organization’s implementation of the CEDS and impact on the regional economy, followed by an Economic Resilience analysis to determine resilience under economic volatility.
