BJH Advisors managed the economic component of the Sunnyside Yard master plan, a more than one year effort led by PAU Studios. Sunnyside Yard, in Queens New York, is an area of active track that supports the nation's busiest rail corridor with a variety of functions, including storage, repair and main line train movements. The plan considered platforming over the active tracks, and the various types of development, open space, and other vertical infrastructure that could be built over the rail. BJH evaluated construction phasing and programming scenarios in its analysis. BJH also evaluated economic and project benefits, including potential financial value from affordable housing and commercial programs for this unique large-scale, neighborhood-building project. Finally, BJH reviewed large-scale precedent projects to inform implementation structuring and strategy.
