Ben Paltiel, Intern Analyst
Ben is a second year graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the joint Master of City Planning & Master of Science in Real Estate Development program at MIT DUSP/MIT CRE. He earned his undergraduate degree in 2017 from Yale University. At MIT, he studies how land use, financial and tax policy can support real estate and economic development, with a focus on affordable housing and the creation of quasi-public development bodies, land banks, land trusts and public-private development agreements.
Before joining BJH, he was a Creative Strategist and Editor at the Washington Post, and an Editor at Bisnow covering construction, development, real estate finance and policy in New York City. As a skier, mountain biker, long-distance hiker and volunteer trail-builder, Ben is also interested in economic and housing development in mountain towns and other recreational communities.
