Gabriela Karnadi, Analyst
Gabriela Karnadi is an Analyst with a background spanning urban planning, spatial and data analysis, and urban design. Her areas of specialization range from transportation and housing to public space and environmental adaptation. At BJH, Gabriela has supported economic development projects across New York State, including climate resilience and cost-benefit analyses. Her technical background in spatial and data analysis has helped city agencies and local communities address climate change challenges.
Recently, Gabriela supported a climate resilience project focused on flood mitigation in the Westchester area, developing the cost-benefit model used to evaluate the best alternative for alleviating flooding issues.
Before joining BJH Advisors, she managed a new town master planning project in Java, Indonesia, developed as an alternative affordable housing option for the adjacent city of Jakarta, the nation's capital. In this role, she led the team and directed the overall project content. She also managed a collaborative, community-led public space redesign with a local institution in Surakarta, Indonesia, and contributed to other study groups addressing urban issues in Jakarta, including transportation, public spaces, and informality.
Gabriela received her Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Bandung Institute of Technology in West Java, Indonesia, and her graduate degree in Urban Planning from the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation at Columbia University in New York.
Gabriela has extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, GIS, Python, and RStudio. She is a native Indonesian speaker.
