Joseph is interested in urban environments and the ways cities can contribute to and build resilience against climate change. He believes that climate resilience should include shaping communities into better places to live, work, and connect.

Joseph’s experience includes chemical analysis of soil throughout Chicago mapping the geography of pollution in the city, spatial analysis of property value and wildfire preparedness in California, and policy analysis of education in India in order to improve the design of literacy programs in rural areas. While his work is informed by data, he emphasizes the human impact behind the numbers.

He is proficient in Excel, GIS, and R, leveraging these tools for impact modeling, spatial analysis, and economic development research.
