Mira Meola, Intern Analyst
Mira Meola is an intern at BJH Advisors and a current undergraduate student studying Environmental Studies and International Affairs at Skidmore College. Mira has developed a strong interest in environmental law, policy, environmental justice issues, and environmental science principles. Through her coursework she has learned how to analyze complex environmental and socio-political issues, collect and analyze data, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. She also has built a strong understanding of environmental laws and policies, particularly in urban settings.
Mira previously interned with the Javits Center’s Sustainability Department where she tracked waste metrics and diversion rates, organized a weekly company farm share, participated in energy audits and energy-saving planning, assisted in waste auditing, and redesigned trash and recycling signage. She is also the Front of House Manager of the Janet Kinghorn Bernhard Theater in Saratoga Springs, where she manages a staff of ushers and works with the theater team to open and close the theater each night.
Mira has published a case study on a toxic coal ash dump in LaBelle, Pennsylvania in the Global Environmental Justice Atlas, an interactive platform that documents instances of environmental injustices or environmental-related social conflicts. She has also been published in the Adirondack Daily Gazette.
Mira is proficient in QGIS and Microsoft Suite, and is familiar with ArcGIS.
