New York Botanical Garden Master Plan Operations Analysis

In 2023, BJH was engaged by the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) to evaluate the operating sustainability of capital improvements proposed as part of its Comprehensive Master Plan. BJH was part of a consultant team, led by OLIN–a landscape architecture, urban design, and planning firm–that supported NYBG leadership in developing the Plan. BJH built an operating income and expense model using assumptions based on historic NYBG data for revenue from food service, retail, events, and admission, as well as the expenses associated with maintaining its buildings, grounds, and programs. The final model is a customizable tool that NYBG can use to refine and prioritize its capital investments over the next 15+ years.
