International Cricket Council Economic Impact Study

BJH conducted an economic impact study for the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the construction of a temporary cricket stadium in the New York City area. The venue hosted the 2024 Cricket World Cup, the first time the T20 event was hosted in the United States.It was co-hosted by the West Indies and the USA, marking a historic moment for cricket in North America.

The stadium was built in 100 days and hosted nine matches before it was dismantled. BJH developed an economic impacts assessment that found the tournament was expected to generate total economic activity of $163 million dollars over several months. This benefited working New Yorkers across a wide range of industries including construction, supply, hospitality, transportation, small businesses, and many more. Impact categories included temporary construction, employment, and tourism spending impacts.
